Shri Thakurji (Shrinathji) in the elaborate Sharad Shringar (autumn full moon decoration) and is set during the Rajbhog Darshan. The central theme is the living tradition of sewa (devotional service), highlighted by the figure of the Tilakayat Shri Govardhneshji Maharaj performing the aarti on the left, an honorific role which often replaces a royal figure. In many historic Pichwais, the figures on the sides, like the richly dressed individual on the far left or the attendants on the right, symbolize the prominent devotees or patrons, such as a Maharana of Kota, witnessing the darshan. The style features meticulous detail, especially in the jeweled shringar and the contrasting rich colors: the deep, almost cosmic blue background and foliage are balanced by the warm, earthy tones of the devotees’ attire and the shimmering gold and silver used for the deity’s shringar and the central haveli frame. The painting radiates a sense of sacred intimacy and historical lineage, and when displayed, its rich texture and dense composition convey a profound sense of auspicious occasion and traditional sanctity.
