This artwork belongs to the Pichhwai painting which is a very detailed way of telling the Chaurasi Bethak Varta (The Holy Tales and places where Shri Vallabhacharyaji visited. Each of the 84 places where Vallabhacharyaji preached and practised seva (devotional service) and divine leela (spiritual acts) are represented in it in Nathdwara style of painting.
The use of natural pigments on cloth in the Pichhwai is done, and the narrative format is that of a grid that has been followed. There are small hand-painted scenes of each baithak from every state as described in Vartas.
The structure of the painting is made out of 84 small squares of panels representing Bethak or sacred event/sacred sites. The middle panel is bigger and it shows Shri Vallabhacharyaji in a divine vision of Shrinathji, Shri Yamunaji, Shri Gopinathji, Shri Gusainji, and Shri Damodardasji which depicts the divine sanction of his path.
Chaurasi Bethak: These 84 places are spread all around India; all these Bethaks are the places where Vallabhacharyaji gave his theory and Knowledge to vaishnavas of Shri Subodhniji.
Temples, the bodies of water, and hills represent the actual geographical distribution of the ethnic ghettos (e.g., Gokul, Varanasi, Mathura, Govardhan, etc.).
Seat Postures demonstrate Vallabhacharyaji in teaching, writing, or spiritual ecstasy poses.
The numerous squares feature disciples and cowherd figures in association with Krishna lila of Vrindavan that feature as a continuous theme in Pushtimarg art.
These Pichhwai paintings are used to decorate temples in case of festivals(such as Mahaprabhuji Utsav).
